12U BLUE

The 12U BLUES swept a pair on Saturday against the Plympton Crush.

Seadogs 7, Plympton Crush 0

Griffin Burke (Barnstable) threw a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts and added three hits including a double in the opener on Saturday at Mercer Field. Antonio Tenaglia’s (Braintree) two run, first inning double was more than Burke would need. Tim Hayes (Walpole) also had a pair of hits.

Seadogs 9, Plympton Crush 4

Mike Reilly (Braintree) was the complete game winner in the second game. His two way effort featured two hits, one of which was a long double. The Dogs blew open a close contest with a six run fourth. The big swings were a three run homerun by Shane Curran (Centerville) and another three run blast by Cole Roland (Duxbury). The two wins upped their record to 11-1.

The 11U GOLDS won twice on Saturday before dropping a pair on Sunday.

Seadogs 14, NE Navigators 6

A three run first, keyed by a James Conley (Milton) RBI single got the Seadogs moving in the right direction in the opener. After the Navs fought back to tie it up, the Dogs bats broke loose in a nine run fourth. Starter Sam Edge (Weymouth) tossed five plus innings for the win while Chris Durante (Scituate) finished things off. Leading the two hit parade were Durante, James Long (Milton), Will Keohane (Hingham) and Reid Walsh (Brookline).

Seadogs 13, NE Navigators 3

James Long and TJ Mullen (Hingham) shared mound duties while the Seadogs scored early and often to complete the Saturday sweep. Sam Edge led the way with three hits. James Long and Nick DelVecchio (Braintree) each had a pair of hits while Luke Buckovich (Scituate) ignited the sixth run fifth with his base hit. DelVecchio also had the play of the day with a diving catch at third base.

 

Athlete’s Edge 16, Seadogs 1

It was all AE in the first game Sunday at Mercer. James Sneyd (Scituate), Keohane and Conley had the Seadog hits.

Athlete’s Edge 5, Seadogs 4 (8 innings)

James Sneyd fanned nine over seven innings in a superb effort to keep Athlete’s Edge at bay before they won it in the eighth. Larry Cummings (Kingston) sparked the offense with two hits. He was joined in the multi-hit parade by Luke Buckovich, Reid Walsh and Chris Durante. It was a disappointed but exciting end to a good baseball weekend.

 

 

14U GOLD

Gold played up a level and dropped a pair at Strong Field to super division rep, East Coast Eagles on Saturday before sweeping a pair from the Quincy Red Stockings on Sunday to start their open division schedule at 2-0.

Seadogs never led in this one.  The offense was led by Charlie Blackington (Cohasset) who had two hits and scored a run and Casey Rasak (Kingston) with a two run double in the final inning.  Tommy Larason (Norwell) doubled and scored a run and Sam Moor (Taunton) had an RBI single in the loss.

East Coast Eagles 10, Seadogs 9

A winnable game got away in the last inning on a couple of errors in the field resulting in a 9-8 lead swinging to a 10-9 loss in the last half inning.  Charlie Blackington and Tommy Larason both went 3-for-4, Larason with a double and Blackington with two RBI, and Mason Johnson (Norwell) drove in a pair.

 

Seadogs 13, Red Stockings 2

Sam Moor
was a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBI to pace a productive attack.  Tommy Larason, the WP, contributed two hits, two RBI and two steals and Casey Rasak thumped a bases loaded triple, one of five Seadog extra base-hits for the game.  Chris DeGiacomo (Norwell) tripled once and scored twice and Tyler Walsh (Scituate)and Matt Cunningham (Weymouth) both popped doubles for the winners.

and Tommy Larason combined to spark another double digit scoring effort going a combined 6-for-6, scoring six times with four doubles (3 by DeGiacomo) and three steals.  Joe Lindsay (Hingham) drove in two runs and Casey Rasak, Mason Johnson, Kyle Lussier (Hingham) and Tyler Walsh (Scituate) all hit safely.  Johnson came on to pitch the final four innings and earn his second win of the year

The 13U’s bttled hard while dropping three games to the USA Mavericks in NEBA action.

USA Mavericks 13, Seadogs 3

Tied 3-3 entering the sixth, the Mavericks exploded for ten runs in the final two frames to cruise to victory. Seadogs starter Ryan Duffey (Duxbury) pitched well into the fifth (4+ IP, 1 ER) before the floodgates opened.


USA Mavericks 8, Seadogs 5

The Mavs jumped out to an early lead with six runs in the first two innings and held on for the win. The Seadogs had eleven hits, paced by two each from Trevor Cooley (Randolph), Brian Panasuk (East Bridgewater), Cam Morrissey (East Bridgewater) and Andrew Glynn (Whitman).

 

USA Mavericks 7, Seadogs 4

On Sunday in Somersworth, NH, the Mavericks held the Dogs to just two hits in a nine inning wooden bat game to conclude the sweep. Ryan Duffey had a two run single and Brian Panasuk hit a long, towering double.

 

 

12U GOLD

 

East Coast Eagles 12, Seadogs 7

The Eagles scored nine times in the second inning and held on from there. The Dogs fought back with four in the fourth and three more in the sixth. Mike Knell (Dennisport) had two hits and a double while Nate Curley (Readville) played solidly at shortstop.

East Coast Eagles 10, Seadogs 8

The Seadogs jumped out to an early 5-1 lead but were not able to hold on. Mike Knell and Owen Leary (Abington) led the attack with two hits each.

 

 

11U BLUE

 

RI Rays 3, Seadogs 1

The Seadogs got a solid pitching effort from Andrew Giovanetti (Weymouth) and Matt Hatfield (Hingham) but were limited to just three hits in the opening loss.

Again the Rays limited the Dogs to just three hits. Kyle Sylvester (Hanover) pitched well into the fifth inning. Will Morganelli’s (Hanover) RBI single plated the lone run.

 

Blackstone Valley Spinners 5, Seadogs 1

Gavyn White (Rockland) pitched well in defeat while Matt Hatfield provided the only hit.

Kyle Sylvester’s RBI single gave the Dogs a 5-4 fifth inning lead. It was short lived, however, as the Spinners responded with ten runs in the bottom half.

 

 

10U BLUE

 

NE Firebirds 6, Seadogs 3

John Tellier (Braintree) pitched five innings of one-hit baseball, fanning seven. It was not enough, however, as the Seadog defense was not up to snuff. Tellier added a pair of hits. Patrick Tevenan (Weymouth) caught a great game as he threw out two would-be base stealers.

NE Firebirds 4, Seadogs 1

Kevin McGovern (Hingham) tossed four innings of one-hit, shutout baseball. After his departure the Firebirds finished off the sweep. The Dogs were limited to hits by Dylan Barkas (Holbrook), Tellier, Jack Clougherty (Hingham) and Sam Gray (Rockland).

The powerful SE Mass Thunder broke open two close games with an impressive array of size and strength on both the mound and at the plate.
