13U GOLDS Take Three of Four!

13U GOLD

The 13U GOLD squad continued their steady and improving play, splitting with the Spartans on Saturday before sweeping the Quincy Future Stars on Sunday.

South Shore Spartans 4, Seadogs 3

On Saturday at Curry College, the Dogs fell in game one 4-3, despite a strong pitching performance from Joe Divico.

Seadogs 6, South Shore Spartans 5

In game two, the Dogs spotted the Spartans an early 5-0 lead, but behind strong pitching and timely hits from Charley Blackington, roared back for a 6-5 win. Christopher DeGiacomo earned the win in relief, with the game ending with right fielder Joe Divico gunning down a Spartans runner at home.

Seadogs 12, Quincy Future Stars 8

In the first game, John Donahue picked up the win in relief of starter Charley Michalowski. Brendan Cornell, Geoff Stillman, Christopher DeGiacomo, Michalwowski and Joe Lindsay all banged out multiple hits.

Seadogs 4, Quincy Future Stars 2

In game two, Cornell threw six strong innings before giving way to DeGiacomo, who picked up the save. Stillman, DeGiacomo and Cornell had big hits for the Dogs.

 

 

10U GOLD

The 10U GOLDS split with the Wildcats on Saturday, dropping the opener before storming back to take game two.

Wildcats 6, Seadogs 0

Luke Buckovich pitched great into the fifth inning, allowing only a solo homerun to former Seadog Cam Powers before tiring in the fifth. Will Spring, Andrew Snape and Andrew Giovanetti (2B) had the only Seadog hits.

 

Seadogs12, Wildcats 2

David Erwin pitched 3 2/3 strong innings and added two RBI and two runs scored to lead the game two victory. TJ Keefe scored three times and added a double while Noah Goldberg scored a pair of runs and played a strong defensive gane at his second base position.

 

 

14U BLUE

The 14U BLUE Seadogs bounced back in game two on Saturday in Rhode Island to gain a split with the RI Tides.

RI Tides 15, Seadogs 1

The Tides outplayed the Seadogs in the opening game of the weekend, collecting 13 hits in just three innings as they mercied the Dogs. Ethan Forrest scored the lone run for the Seadogs.

Seadogs 10, RI Tides 8

The Seadogs roared back in game two behind an extremely gritty pitching performance by Ethan Forrest, who threw a complete game with ten strikeouts. He helped himself with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Ricky Smith had a huge day at the plate, going 3-4 with a triple, 2 RBIs, 3 runs, and 2 steals. Andrew Scheim had a big 2-run triple in the bottom of the 6th which would provide the winning runs for the Dogs. Joe Walsh also went 2-3 with a run scored.

 

 

12U and 11U BLUE

The Seadogs enjoyed an inter-age doubleheader on Saturday at Mercer Field between the 11U BLUES and the 12U team.

12U 10, 11U BLUE 4

The 12U squad used a four run fourth and and eleven hit attack to gain the opening win. Austin Barkas was the first of three hurlers and was credited with the win. Tyler Bell, Chris Ferraro and Zack DelVecchio each had two hits for the victors. Shane Curran and Griffin Burke both hit the ball hard throughout and had two hits apiece for the 11′s, while starter Trent Cooley pitched valiantly.

12U 9, 11U BLUE 2

Justin Fein (3 hits, triple), Tyler Bell (3 for 4, 2 doubles) and Brian Panasuk (2 for 4, 5th homerun) led the attack in game two. Harrison Pitts tossed three strong innings for the win. Chris O’Brien and Jared Hamilton added two hits each. Eliot Hillstrand had two hits, including a long double for the 11U BLUES. The 11U BLUES also turned a triple play in the fifth inning.

 

 

14U GOLD

Plympton Crush 15, Seadogs 6

The Crush scored eight runs in the first two innings and never looked back.

Plympton Crush 12, Seadogs 11

The Dogs fought back from a large early deficit but couldn’t finish it off. Ryan O’Donnell (4 for 5), Antonio Marini (3 for 4) and Kyle Holmberg (2 for 5) led the charge while reliever John Carlson fanned eleven batters in the loss.

 

 

10 U BLUE

Quincy Redstockings 13, Seadogs 3

Luke Murphy continued swinging a hot bat, going two for three as Quincy dominated.

Will Morganelli, Sean Feehily and Quentin Wolf had the lone hits for the Seadogs.
