Seadogs10, Rhode Island Reds 1

Tyler Bell (5 IP, 2 H, 7 K;s) tossed five strong innings and the Seadogs scored five times in the third inning in a 15 hit attack to win their opener of the season at Mercer Field. The big third inning was sparked by two run doubles from Bell and Christopher O’Brien. A four run fifth inning included RBI singles from Justin Fein and Mike Pasini and a two run triple from Jared Hamilton. Drew Alexopoulos, Chris Ferraro, Brian Panasuk, Fein and Zack DelVecchio all collected two hits in the win.

Seadogs 10, Rhode Island Reds 8

Reliever Chris Ferraro snuffed out a seventh inning Reds uprising by fanning the last two hitters with runners on second and third to finish the sweep. The third inning was again the big rally as the Dogs scored six times. Ferraro’s two run double was followed by Brian Panasuk’s (3 for 3) RBI double and RBI singles from Tommy Gillan and Raul Morales. Panasuk added a solo homer in the fifth, a line shot over the fence in left. It concluded a (5 for 5, 2 doubles, HR) strong performance on the day for Panasuk. Trevor Cooley (5 IP, 1 ER, 4 K’s) got the win and also had a pair of hits.

Baystate Bulldogs 11, Seadogs 5

The Seadogs defense disappeared for one inning as starter Sam D’Antuono pitched well in defeat. John Carlson went three for four including a homerun to spark the attack.

Seadogs 6, Baystate Bulldogs 4

John Carlson tossed a complete game three-hitter with seven strikeouts as The Dogs got the split. Carlson (2 for 4), Matt Brazel (2 for 4) and Kyle Reardon (2 for 4, double) led the way offensively.

 

Team MASS 14, Seadogs 13

Brendan Chernicki’s perfect squeeze bunt in the top of seventh gave the Dogs a one run lead before Team MASS pulled out the win in the bottom half. Ryan O’Donnell’s two hits included a triple while Jonathan Shepard and Sam D’Antuono each knocked out a pair of hits.

Seadogs 9, Team MASS 8

Kyle Holmberg (2 for 3) scored the winning run in the seventh on a gutsy play as he stole third and came home with the winner as the ball got away. Holmberg’s heroics made a winner of pitcher Matt Brazel.

Royals Academy 15, Seadogs 3

On Saturday at Mercer Field, the Seadogs pitchers walked too many Royals in the opening loss. Dan Valicenti’s triple was a lone Seadog highlight.

The Dogs bounced back in game two behind a solid pitching performance from Patrick Santorella and Nate Curley. Owen Leary had two doubles while Curley and Kylar Macoratti both had two hits.

 

Boston Broncos 15, Seadogs 11

The Dogs dug themselves too deep of a hole as their valiant comeback came up short. Owen Leary had three more hits, including another double. Chris Knight and Josh DuBois had two hits apiece.

Seadogs 12, Boston Broncos 7

The Dogs gained the split behind a strong, five inning pitching performance by Mike Burgess and four hits from Chris Knight.. Nolan Dransfield pitched the seventh. Trevor Layden and Owen Leary made fine plays in the outfield while Nate Curley made a spectacular diving play and throw from secondbase.

 

13U GOLD

New Hampshire Knights 7, Seadogs 1

In the opener on Sunday at Beechwood Field in Cohasset, the Knights played mistake free baseball and cruised to the victory. Greg Williamson had two hits and pitched three strong innings in his Seadogs debut.

Seadogs 11, New Hampshire Knights 7

Starting pitcher Alex Greco got the win and John Donohue picked up a clutch save, as the Seadogs Gold 13U team picked up its first win of the season with an 11-7 victory over a well-drilled New Hampshire Knights team. The Dogs broke the game open with a five run fifth inning, with the hits coming from Greco, Charley Michalowski, Brendan Cornell (three hits in the game), and Sam Rice. Joe Lindsay drove in an important insurance run to help seal the victory.

 

10U BLUE

Weymouth Wildcats 3, Seadogs 0

Kyle Sylvester, Jack Clougherty and James Dolan collected the lone hits as the Wildcats pitching dominated.

Wildcat pitching dominated again in game two.

 

Seadogs 7, Verdero Vipers 6

Kyle Sylvester pitched 4 strong innings, striking out seven and Kayden McSheffrey came in and slammed the door with five strike outs in the final two innings as the 10U Blue took the first game of the doubleheader. Hits by Luke Murphy (2), Sylvester (2), Gavin White, James Dolan, Jack Clougherty, Nate Robards and McSheffery led a relentless attack. McSheffrey ended the game when he blew a fast ball by the final Viper batter stranding the tying run on third.

Verdero Vipers 8, Seadogs 5

The Vipers jumped to an early first inning lead 3-0. James Sneyd kept the Vipers off balance for four innings striking out five Vipers. The Seadogs bats weren’t as active as the first game. The Seadogs did manufacture runs on aggressive base running stealing 5 bases. In the end the Vipers held on to earn the split.

 

11U BLUE

Rhode Island Reds 7, Seadogs 6

In game one, Seadog pitcher Ryan Corcoran was within an out of a complete game victory going five and two thirds, scattering just six hits and two walks while recording 12 strike outs. But last inning heroics earned the Reds the victory.

Game two featured solid pitching performances by Griffin Burke and Trent Cooley and a 17 hit assault by Seadog bats. When the dust settled on the day, Antonio Tenaglia and Eliot Hillstrand had collected 4 hits, Trent Cooley and Collin Murphy had three.

 

Team Nokona 12, Seadogs 9

Shane Curran collected five hits on the day, which included three triples and a double. His effort was overshadowed by balanced hitting up and down the Nokona lineup throughout the day.
