Battery Club 2011-2012
Form Drills
The South Shore Baseball Club’s BATTERY CLUB is designed for pitchers and
catchers who want to learn and work on the finer points of baseball’s most
important positions.
The BATTERY CLUB for 8-12 year olds will be held twice over the 2011-2012 off season.
COST is $185 for Non Members and $150 for current SSBC Members.
Group size is limited to assure personalized instruction by our staff of
professional instructors who will emphasize the following points:
Catchers at Work
PITCHING
- Mechanics from both the wind-up and the stretch
- Strategy and pitch selection
- Different grips and their effect on the ball
- Fielding your position
- Pick-off moves
- Attitude necessary to be a successful pitcher
CATCHING
- Proper receiving and throwing techniques
- Pitch selection and strategies
- Blocking low pitches
- Overall catching strategy
