Fall 2008 Leagues

Fall Outdoor Baseball Leagues will once again be held in four different age groups. Ranging in age from 7 to 18, the Fall 2007 season saw over 200 players participate.

AGES 7-9 will be held at Watson Park in Braintree. Under the direction of Frank Niles, the group will meet each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM for the five week session beginning September 8th. The final day will be Friday, October 10th. Players enter individually and will be placed on teams by the SSBC staff. The focus of this group will be to play lots of baseball. Coaches will pitch. We want the balls hit, caught and thrown as often as possible.

AGES 10-12 will play doubleheaders on Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM beginning September 13th for six weeks. The final date will be October 18th. All action will be held at Watson Park in Braintree. Kids will pitch, with a maximum three innings allowed per day per player. We will provide shirts, hats, umpires, standing and playoffs. Players may register as a group or as individuals. Rosters will be limited to ensure proper playing time.

AGES 13-15 will play Saturday doubleheaders each week beginning September 13th and will run for six weeks. The final date will be October 18th. Fields may include Cronin Field in Hingham and/or Libby Field in Weymouth. Games will be begin at 9:00 AM and continue throughout the day. Players may register as a group or as individuals. Fee includes SSBC shirt, hat and umpires fees.

HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY will play Sunday doubleheaders from September 14th thru October 26th. The SSBC will field three to five teams (based on enrollment) that will compete against various local teams. Teams will be held to 14 players per team to ensure proper playing time for all. Fee will include SSBC shirt and hat. Qualified umpires will be provided for all games. Fields may include Cronin Field in Hingham and Strong Field in East Bridgewater.
