The 10U BLUE Seadogs swept a doubleheader against the Athlete's Edge on Saturday, with both games ending on plays at the plate.
Seadogs 6, Athlete's Edge 5
Holding onto a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded, the basehit went to rightfield where Matt MacDonald fired a perfect strike to catcher Charlie Auditore to snuff out the game tying run and end the game.
Seadogs 4, Athlete's Edge 3
Trailing 3-1 in the top of the sixth with the bases the loaded, middle infielders Charlie Auditore and Trent Cooley turned a key double play to end the inning before the Dogs rallied to victory. After Francis Kokoros' RBI single cut the lead to one, pinch runner Robert Hutchins scored on a game tying single by Auditore. With two outs he stole second. Bryant Salkind then delivered the base hit to left as Auditore narrowly beat the throw home.
The 15U squad improved to 7-1 with a pair of wins on Saturday in Harwich.
Seadogs 8, Dugout Dawgs 4
Clint Bylo (7 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 2 BB's, 5 K's) tossed a gutsy, complete game and Craig Hanley had a double, triple and 2 RBI to lead the offense. Joe Presti added an RBI double.

Joe Presti did the honors in the second game in a complete game five hitter.
The 14U GOLDS continued their strong campaign with three wins and a tie, upping their record to 31-8.

Seadogs 9, Legends 0
Starter and winner Evan Flanagan combined with Drew Saltmarsh and Chris LeClair for the shutout. The offense was led by Danny White, Hector Coscione, Eddie Bowler, Brody Loughlin and Justin Moy with two hits each.
Seadogs 4, Legends 4
Evan Flanagan's long RBI double gave the Dogs a short lived 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth before the Legends scored in the bottom half for the tie. Brody Loughlin, Danny White and Chris LeClair all pitched well.
Seadogs 16, Cape Cod Sharks 2
Hector Coscione pitched five strong innings and got two key plays from rightfielder Steve Campo as the Dogs rolled at Lawrence Junior High in Falmouth on Sunday. Loughlin, Flanagan, James Marcello and Saltmarsh were the muti-hit guys with two apiece.
Seadogs 12, Cape Cod Sharks 3
Rob Madden banged out four hits in support of hurlers Justin Moy, Saltmarsh, Ben Rosenblatt and Pat Carroll. Campo, Dan Swain, Saltmarsh, Marcello and Flanagan all added two hits.
The 11U Golds won the Pembroke Round Robin Tourney, topping both Team Mizuno squads.

Brandon Jung stepped up with his best outing of the season,
limiting Mizuno to just three hits over five innings before Zack
Silva came on to close it out. Tyler Balzarini, Ben
Rice (triple) and Zack Silva had the key hits to supply the offense.
Seadogs 8, Team Mizuno NAVY 6
A six run third was enough to hold off Mizuno NAVY and seure the championship in this mini, round robin event. Tyler Balzarini held Mizuno to one run over five innings with a strong defensive effort from Tommy Gillan. Gillan was a one man highlight film with several diving plays as he lived up to his Dirt Dog reputation. He also added two hits including a double. Brandon Jung added three hits and scored twice to complete his fine overall day.
The 12U BLUES dropped two of three in the NEAAU Super Division tourney in Rhode Island.
Worcester Heat 14, Seadogs 3
The Heat scored eleven times in the second inning and cruised toa mercy-shortened win on Friday in Johnstown, Rhode Island.
Seadogs 14, RI Tides 6
Mason Johnson went four for four and Tommy Larason, Austin Salkind, Johnny Rorke and Dylan Russo all had two hits and two RBI's as the Dogs bounced back on Saturday.
RI Reds 5, Seadogs 2
The Reds clubbed three homeruns and scored four times in the fourth to top the Seadogs. Dave Hutchins, AJ Ferrara and Eric Peterson all pitched well for the Dogs. The Reds went on to win the tournament the next day.
The 12U GOLDS went 2-1 in Pool Play in the NEAAU tournament, finishing second in their pool.
Baystate Bulldogs 3, Seadogs 2 (10 innings)
The Bulldogs were down to their final out when they strung together an infield hit, a stolen base, a triple and scored the game winner on a wild pitch to gain a crucial win in the opening game of Pool Play Friday night. They went on to win the pool. Joe DiVico had another dominating performance on the mound for the Seadogs, fanning ten over five innings.
Seadogs 11, Nor'Easters
4 (8 innings)
The Seadogs scored seven times in the eighth inning to
break a tie with the last year's Open champions, the Nor'Easters, 11-4.
Harry Cornell struck out nine through six strong innings
before yielding to his cousin, Brendan Cornell, who got the win in relief.
Brendan Cornell banged out three hits for the Seadogs, and Christopher
DeGiacomo mashed
a bases clearing double in the eighth.
Seadogs 13, NH Blackflies 8
Brendan Smith earned the victory with outstanding pitching,
and Tyler
Walsh continued to impress while picking up the save. Brendan
Cornell once again paced the offense with four hits, while Sam
Rice added
three more. Charley Michalowski,
Scott Radding, Christopher DeGiacomo and Jackson
Hartwell pounded two hits
each.
The 16U Seadogs won two of three last week.
NE Ruffnecks 3, Seadogs 1
Last Wednesday at Babson, the Ruffnecks used three pitchers to limit the Seadogs offense to just five hits. Brendan Doonan had two of the hits, including a double and Matt Goreham drove in the lone Seadogs run.
Seadogs 15, Hit Zone Hornets 1
The bats were more active on Saturday in Salem. Every starter had at least one hit with Christian Hoxsie (two doubles) and Matt Sheehan leading the way with two each. Starter Brendan Doonan allowed just two hits over five innings, fanning six.

Johnny Mildner was impressive in his first start of the season with seven
strikeouts over five innings of work. Kyle Silva returned to the heart
of the lineup with two hits, a double and two RBI's. Jeff Cavanaro (2 for
4,double, 3 RBI, SB) and Doonan (2 for 3, double, 2 RBI) continued their
fine offensive play.
The 11U BLUES dropped two one run games in the NEAAU Super Division tournament.

The Heat plated a run in the bottom of the sixth to walk off with the opening win. Trevor Cooley and Zeke Berg both pitch valiantly in defeat. Left fielder JP Knight cut down a runner at the plate in a huge play earlier.
NE Firebirds 4, Seadogs 3 (seven innings)
Brett Tivnan hit a dramatic solo homerun in the top of the eighth to give the Dogs a lead that they would not hold. Chris Ferraro threw four shutout innings.
