12U BLUE


The 12U BLUES put on an offensive show, scoring 54 runs as they won all four games this past weekend.

Seadogs 14, Connecticut Bombers 3

The Seadogs scored six times in the second and five more times in the fourth to end this abbreviated game at Mercer Field in Norwood. Will O'Sullivan and Jesse Feldstein had three hits apiece, while Jarred Montero, Sam Ballerini, Evan Morris and (winning pitcher) Mickey Barry added two each.

Seadogs 12, Connecticut Bombers 1

Gus Culpo was dominant on the mound, fanning eleven and allowing just two hits over five innings and Jarred Montero hit a long homerun out of Mercer Field to lead the way. Coley Barker banged out three hits while Steve Gerhart and Culpo added a pair.

Seadogs 17, Royals Baseball Academy 4

Evan Morris hit a first inning three run homerun and the Seadogs never looked back. Ethan Forrest added four singles to the attack and Will O'Sullivan collected three more hits. After the Royals cut the lead to 7-4 with a four run second, Andrew Jaehnig's long, three run double restored the lead.

Seadogs 11, Royals 0

The Dogs completed the sweep behind four strong, shutout innings by Evan Morris. Jesse Feldstein hit a two run homer and Ethan Forrest added two hits.

 

13U BLUE

The 13U BLUES improved to 12-0 with a sweep of the NE Lightning on Saturday and the NE Heat on Sunday.

Seadogs 8, Lightning 1

Joe Guarino stifled the perennially powerful Lightning with 4 2/3 innings of outstanding pitching. Donny May picked up the save in relief.

Seadogs 17, Lightning 1

Hard throwing right-hander Vinny Scifo worked the first four innings and got relief help from Sean Heelen and Johnny Adams to complete the sweep.

Seadogs 14, Heat 4

Sammy Falkson did the pitching honors, shutting down the Heat bats.

Seadogs 13, Heat 10

Kevin Murphy came out of the pen to get the win in game two.

The catching tandem of Heelen and Joe Manni was awesome all weekend, both playing great defense and collecting multiple extra base hits. Tim Sullivan played a great second base and crushed the ball all weekend. Adams and Murphy consistently set the table for Scifo, who had several hits and RBI's. Cam Hanley and Todd MacDonald each hit bullets all weekend, while Tommy Landry and Danny Dougherty also contributed multiple hits. Finally, Justin Lloyd used his great speed for a double and triple, and added five stolen bases.

 

 

12U GOLD


Ricky Smith Homered Three Times Over the Weekend

 

The 12U GOLDS enjoyed a productive weekend, winning three of four.

Worcester Heat 11, Seadogs 10

A three-run Brendan Pierce homerun gave the Dogs the lead in the fifth before the Heat rallied to tie it in the sixth and win it in the seventh. Ricky Smith hit a solo shot in the first. Matt Brazel (2 for 4, 2 RBI) and Alex Berluti (2 for 2, 2 RBI) swung the bats well.

Seadogs 6, Worcester Heat 4

Dave Hutchins (4IP, 1 Run) was the winning pitcher and added two solo homeruns to lead the Seadogs. Ricky Smith also homered. John Carlson pitched the final two frames.

Seadogs 11, South Coast Crusaders 2

Ricky Smith (2 for 3, HR) got things going with his third homer of the weekend, a two-run shot in the first. Chris LeBlanc (2 for 2, 2 RBI) and winning pitcher Alex Berluti (2 for 3, 2 RBI) led the offensive attack. Joe Leahy worked two strong innings in relief.

Seadogs 10, South Coast Crusaders 3

Winning pitcher Ricky Smith fanned eleven in 4 1/3 innings while Shane Rossi (3 for 3, 2 RBI), Christian Callahan (2 for 3), Dave Hutchins (2 for 4, RBI) and Smith (3 for 4, 3 RBI) led the offensive onslaught.

 

 

10U BLUE

The 10U BLUE Seadogs upped their record to 11-2 with four wins.

Seadogs 20, Frozen Ropes 0

Austin LeBlanc, Tyler Bell and Brian Umano combined on the mound for fourteen strikeouts and allowed just one hit. Chris Ferraro, Umano, Jack Donius and Kyle Heffernan each had three hits in the twenty-six hit attack.

Seadogs 16, Frozen Ropes 0

Four Seadog pitchers combined in the game two shutout effort. Eric Keefe, Bryant Salkind, Chris O'Brien and Harrison Pitts combined on a three-hitter.

Seadogs 14, Team Nokona 7

Tyler Bell came on in relief of starter Kevin Higgins and shut down Nokona over four innings. The patient Seadogs hitters collected fifteen walks. Higgins and Heffernan had two hits each.


Heff Scores the Game Winner

Seadogs 7, Team Nokona 6

Austin LeBlanc's single plated Kyle Heffernan with the game winner in the bottom of the sixth to complete the sweep. It was LeBlanc's third hit of the game. Brett Tivnan added two hits. Trevor Cooley and Brian Umano shared mound duties.

 

11U GOLD

The 11U GOLDS won twice against the Rhode Island Riptide in West Kingston, RI on Sunday.

Seadogs 7, Riptide 3

In the opener, Joe Divico scattered five hits and whiffed four, getting strong defensive play from Jeff Powers at third and Brendan Cornell at second. Sam Rice drove in four runs, including bringing in Mason Johnson with a sacrifice fly after Johnson bombed a long triple to right center. Shortstop Eric Peterson was a perfect three for three at the plate.

Seadogs 7, Riptide 1

In the second game, Peterson threw just 51 pitches in holding the Riptide to one run on three hits. Peterson walked just one batter and struck out four. He also keyed a five run fifth inning rally with a lead off single, which was followed by a run-scoring double from Charley Michalowski. Chris DiGiacomo had two hits for the Dogs, and John Donahue ended the game with an unusual centerfield to first base put out.

 

11U BLUE

The 11U BLUES ballclub had to settle for a weekend split vs Nokona in Ashland on Sunday to run their record to 3-1 over the first two weekends of the season.

Nokona 9, Seadogs 1

The 'Dogs jumped to an early 1-0 lead on back to back two-out doubles by Austin Salkind and Cody Carr in the first inning. Nokona responded with three runs in their half, just one of which was earned, against Salkind, the 'Dogs' starter and loser. The Seadogs went scoreless the rest of the way and managed just four hits.


Tommy Larason Nailed Down the Save

Seadogs 9, Nokona 6

Bidding for the sweep Nokona led 2-0 before the Seadogs broke out for an eight run second inning triggered by Salkind's first home run of the season. Three hitters later, 'Dogs starter and winner (2-0), Dylan Russo drilled an RBI triple scoring Carr, who had walked, to tie the game at two. Mike Callander, Joe Roddy and Cam Walsh all contributed RBI singles in the inning. Four Nokona scores in the fourth cut the lead to 8-6 but Tommy Larason came on to nail down the win working two perfect innings and striking out four, including the side in order in the bottom of the sixth to get the save.

 

10U GOLD

The 10U GOLDS dropped a pair to the Quincy Deuces on Sunday.

Deuces 3, Seadogs 1

Starter Jack Ruprecht fanned six batters over three solid innings but the Seadogs left ten men on base in a frustrating defeat. Jack Ruprecht reached base three times and Francis Kokoros singled twice.


Deuces 19, Seadogs 15

After taking a 4-0 first inning lead the Dogs fell short in this high scoring seesaw battle. Kokoros' bases clearing double brought a spark to the Seadogs in the last inning. Daniel Murray (2 singles, RBI, SB), Cole Roland (3 hits) and Jason Pompey (double, 2 runs, 2 RBI) led the offense.

 

 

14U

The 14U Seadogs lost twice to Team Mass on Saturday before sweeping the Bennington (VT) Reds on Sunday.

Team Mass 9, Seadogs 1

Holding a slim 2-1 lead after after five innings, Team Mass rallied for seven in the sixth afetr starter Mike Baryski tired. The Seadogs fanned fourteen times against a tough Team Mass hurler.

Team Mass 11, Seadogs 1

The Dogs mustered just four hits as Team Mass completed the sweep.

Seadogs 11, Bennington Reds 1

Dan King's two run single in the second and Craig Hanley's long fifth inning homerun led the way in Sunday's opening win. Winning pitcher Chris Hoyt also added a pair of hits to the attack.

Seadogs 15, Bennington Reds 0

Alex Connolly allowed just one hit and walked none in a four inning shortened game. PJ McElroy and Alex Way each scored three runs.

 

13U GOLD

Afetr dropping two on Saturday to the Dugout Dawgs the 13U GOLDS topped the NE Navigators twice on Sunday.

Dugout Dawgs 8, Seadogs 0

The Dugout Dawgs played a solid all around game in keeping the Dogs completely under control in the opener.

Dugout Dawgs 9, Seadogs 8

The Dugout Dawgs overcame an 8-6 lead with a three-run bottom of the sixth to complete the sweep. The Seadogs could not hold their early 5-0 lead. John Sullivan hit two booming triples and Brendan Craven and Rob Madden had two hits each for the Seadogs.

Seadogs 9, Navigators 6

A four run second followed by a three run third were enough as the Dogs hung on for the win. Justin Moy, Nate Indelicato and Ryan Young led the attack with two hits each. Moy, Jake McLeod and Drew Saltmarsh shared the mound duties.

Seadogs 11, Navigators 8

A four run bottom of the sixth was the decisive rally in this high scoring ballgame as the Seadogs prevailed. James Marcello tossed two strong innings of relief and Rob Madden pitched the scoreless seventh for the save. Hits by Marcello, Brody Loughlin, Madden, Indelicato and Mike Lenane pieced together the big rally.
