SPEED, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM

For the Committed Baseball Player

AGES 14-18

 

THE PROGRAM

The goal of our program is to give each athlete a solid training foundation for future athletic sucess. This is accomplished through our specialized system of sports training activities for baseball.

A properly sequenced dynamic warm-up and flexibility exercise program.

Hands on instruction in weight training techniques to develop specialized strength for baseball.

Functional running drills to improve speed, quickness and agility.

Training methods to reduce arm, shoulder and leg injuries.

Exercises to increase general conditioning and core strength.

Plyometric and medicine ball exercises for explosive hitting and throwing power.

We will also introduce athletes to our unique complexes of skills to improve athleticism at all levels. Finally, we believe young athletes should develop their talent in an atmosphere that is fun, enhances self-esteem and is beneficial for future athletic success.

 

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Ed Connors-Owner and Director of Ed Connors Sports Training Services at the South Shore Sports Center. Ed has been a strength and conditioning coach for twenty-five years. He has trained several NHL and US Olympic athletes and numerous elite amateur athletes from various sports. Ed holds a MEd from B.U. in Physical Education, is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a USDA Weightlifting Club Coach.
